However, it was taking me hours a day to do this. When I heard of Quick Gym and the 4-minute workout on the R.O.M. machine I was probably more skeptical than most, because I had worked out seriously with weight training and running most of my life, giving up running in 1996 because of my knees, then continuing on with weight workouts and doing the Nordic Trac skier for about 3 years, then the Elliptical Trainer & weights until my surgery. It was ingrained in me, from personal experience, that you had to pound it hard for at least 30 minutes to get a proper aerobic or anaerobic workout. I started the Elliptical Trainer again last July and was in great shape when I decided to give Quick Gym a try because of the explanation you gave of how it works, the info on the web site, and my desire to cut down on the time I was spending working out.  

 I agreed to give it a trial for one week. After the first and every 4-minute workout my lungs felt like they did when I would run a 10K race...like I had strained them in a very good way. This both amazed me and pleased me, because I knew this was giving me a great workout, especially since it happened with both the lower and upper body workouts. In fact, this is why I decided to continue working out with the R.O.M. machine by joining QuickGym.

 My criteria for a type of exercise being beneficial is that it must translate into improved physical work and athletic performance. About late November I tried taking 2 steps at a time when going up a staircase. This was very painful in both of my knees so I quit after a few steps. I tried again about mid-December and mid-January...it was better but still very uncomfortable. I started at QuickGym on 2/11/08. After working out at the QuickGym for 4 weeks I tried climbing 2 steps at a time. To my amazement I was able to do so with ease! This type of exercise does indeed produce the results I am looking for and is a blessing in terms of it's fitness and time-saving benefits.

 Thanks for working with me to train me on how to use the R.O.M. machine and tailor it to my still recovering bionic knees (my orthopedic surgeon said it would take about a year to get most of the kinks out) and to help me experience challenging workouts in just 4 minutes. It's like a new lease on life not having to spend the hours a day working out that I had been doing to get my knees in the best shape possible. If you can just get me to somehow feel comfortable working out in business clothes, as you say most of your members do, it will be truly amazing...after so many years of working out in shorts and sweats I find this almost impossible to do. :-)
